Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ground pork sausage Mild or sage flavored

  • 3 cups whole milk Cold milk prevents lumps
  • ¼ cup heavy cream Adds a luxurious texture
  • 1 teaspoon freshly cracked black pepper Adjust to taste
  • ½ teaspoon salt Adjust to taste
  • 6 buttermilk biscuits Baked and split for serving

Method
 

  1. Place the ground pork in a large skillet over medium-high heat and break it apart until fully browned.

  2. Sprinkle the flour evenly over the meat and stir constantly for two minutes until lightly toasted.
  3. Reduce the heat and slowly pour in the milk and heavy cream while stirring to prevent lumps.

  4. Simmer the mixture for about five minutes until it coats the back of a spoon thickly.

  5. Remove from heat, season generously with black pepper and salt, and serve immediately over warm split biscuits.
