Ingredients
  

  • 4 cups fresh strawberries, hulled and sliced Look for ripe, red berries
  • ½ cup granulated sugar Divided use for berries and dough
  • 2 ⅓ cups Bisquick baking mix Ensure the mix is fresh
  • cup heavy whipping cream Very cold, plus extra for whipping
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract Optional but highly recommended

  • 1 Electric mixer For whipping cream

Method
 

  1. Wash, hull, and slice the strawberries into a bowl, tossing them with a quarter cup of sugar to macerate.

  2. Combine the baking mix, remaining sugar, heavy cream, and vanilla in a large bowl, stirring gently until a soft dough forms.
  3. Drop large spoonfuls of the biscuit dough onto an ungreased baking sheet.

  4. Bake at 425°F for 10 to 12 minutes until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
  5. Whip additional heavy cream in a chilled bowl until soft peaks form, then assemble the split biscuits with berries and cream.

Notes
