Method
- Place the blackberries, mint leaves, and simple syrup in the bottom of a glass.
- Gently press the mixture with a muddler until the berries release their juices.
- Pour the bourbon directly over the muddled fruit and stir gently.
- Fill the glass completely with crushed ice and stir vigorously until frosty.
- Top with a dome of extra crushed ice, and garnish with a blackberry and mint sprig.

Do not over-muddle the mint, or it will release bitter flavors. Chill your glasses beforehand for the best frosty presentation.
