Ingredients
  

  • 2 ounces tequila blanco 100% de agave is best
  • 1 ounce fresh lime juice Freshly squeezed only
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur Cointreau or high-quality Triple Sec
  • ¼ ounce agave nectar Optional, adjust to taste
  • 1 tablespoon kosher salt For rimming the glass
  • 1 wedge lime For the rim and garnish
  • 2 cups ice cubes For shaking and serving

Method
 

  1. Rub a fresh lime wedge along the outside rim of your glass, then dip it into kosher salt.
  2. Add the tequila, fresh lime juice, orange liqueur, and agave nectar into a cocktail shaker.

  3. Fill the shaker with solid ice cubes and shake vigorously for 15 seconds until the outside is completely frosted.

  4. Fill the prepared glass with fresh ice and strain the cocktail over the ice to serve.

Notes
