Ingredients
  

  • 2 oz blanco tequila Use 100% blue agave
  • 1 oz blue curaçao Provides the vibrant blue color
  • 1 oz fresh lime juice Freshly squeezed only
  • ½ oz agave nectar Optional, adjust to taste
  • 1 cup ice cubes For shaking and serving
  • 1 tablespoon coarse salt For the rim
  • 1 wedge fresh pineapple For garnish
  • 1 maraschino cherry For garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Cocktail shaker For mixing and chilling
  • 1 Jigger For measuring liquids
  • 1 Rocks glass For serving
  • 1 Citrus juicer For squeezing limes

Method
 

  1. Rub a fresh lime wedge completely around the rim of your chosen rocks glass and dip the moistened edge gently into a shallow plate of coarse salt.

  2. Fill the prepared glass entirely to the top with fresh ice cubes to chill the vessel thoroughly.
  3. Pour the measured tequila, blue curaçao, fresh lime juice, and optional agave nectar directly into a metal cocktail shaker with a handful of fresh ice.

  4. Seal the shaker tightly and shake vigorously for about fifteen seconds until the outside of the metal becomes visibly frosty and cold.
  5. Strain the chilled liquid carefully over the fresh ice waiting in your prepared glass and garnish with a pineapple wedge and cherry.

Notes
