  • 1 cup rolled oats Old fashioned works best
  • 1 cup milk of choice Whole milk or almond milk
  • 1 cup water To help cook the oats
  • 1 cup carrots, peeled and finely grated Use the finest grater setting
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup Adjust sweetness to taste
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon For warm spice
  • ¼ teaspoon ground nutmeg For authentic cake flavor
  • 2 tablespoons raisins Optional mix-in
  • 2 tablespoons chopped walnuts Toasted if preferred

Equipment

  • 1 Box grater For shredding carrots
  • 1 Medium saucepan For cooking the oatmeal

Method
 

  1. Wash and peel your fresh carrots before grating them on the finest side of your box grater.
