Ingredients
  

  • 6 cups seedless watermelon, cubed Look for a ripe, heavy melon
  • 1 cup fresh lemon juice Squeezed from about 6-8 large lemons
  • ½ cup granulated sugar Adjust depending on the sweetness of the melon
  • 4 cups cold water Chilled for immediate serving
  • ice cubes For serving
  • fresh mint sprigs Optional garnish

Equipment

  • 1 Blender For pureeing the fruit
  • 1 Fine mesh strainer To remove the pulp
  • 1 pitcher For mixing and serving
  • 1 Citrus juicer For juicing lemons

Method
 

  1. Place the cubed watermelon into a blender and process until completely smooth.

  2. Pour the blended fruit through a fine mesh strainer into a large bowl to remove the pulp.

  3. Extract the juice from the fresh lemons, making sure to discard any seeds.

  4. Combine the watermelon juice, lemon juice, cold water, and sugar in a pitcher, stirring until dissolved.
  5. Pour the lemonade over glasses filled with ice and garnish with fresh mint.
