Method
- Bring 4 cups of filtered water to a rolling boil in a medium saucepan.
- Remove from heat, add tea bags, and let steep for 5 minutes until deep amber in color.
- Carefully remove the tea bags without squeezing them.
- Stir in the granulated sugar and baking soda until completely dissolved in the hot tea.
- Pour the hot mixture into a large pitcher and stir in the cold water and fresh lemon juice.
- Serve immediately over glasses filled with ice and garnish with lemon slices.

Store covered in the refrigerator for up to 4 days. Remove lemon slices before storing so the rind does not make the tea bitter over time.
