Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, diced Hull and wash thoroughly
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar Adjust based on berry sweetness
  • 4 scoops vanilla bean ice cream Keep frozen until assembly
  • ¼ cup whipped cream For garnish
  • 1 tablespoon rainbow sprinkles Optional topping
  • 2 tablespoons chopped peanuts Unsalted or roasted

Equipment

  • 1 Ice cream scoop For perfectly round scoops
  • 2 sundae glasses Chilled in freezer
  • 1 Mixing Bowl For macerating berries
  • 1 knife To dice strawberries

Method
 

  1. Wash, hull, and dice the fresh strawberries, then lightly mash a small portion of them.

  2. Toss the berries with sugar in a bowl and let sit for 10 minutes to release juices.

  3. Spoon a layer of the strawberry syrup and fruit into the bottom of two chilled glasses.
  4. Add two large scoops of vanilla bean ice cream to each glass, pressing down slightly.

  5. Top with remaining berries, whipped cream, sprinkles, and chopped peanuts, then serve immediately.

Notes
