Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, hulled Plus extra for garnish
  • 4 ounces blanco tequila Use high-quality 100% agave tequila
  • 2 ounces fresh lime juice Freshly squeezed only
  • 1 ounce orange liqueur Triple sec or Cointreau
  • 1 tablespoon agave nectar Adjust based on berry sweetness
  • coarse sugar or salt For rimming the glass
  • ice cubes For shaking and serving

Method
 

  1. Run a lime wedge around the rim of your glasses and dip them into coarse sugar to coat the edges.

  2. Place the fresh strawberries and agave nectar into a blender and puree until completely smooth.
  3. Fill a cocktail shaker with ice, then add the strawberry puree, tequila, lime juice, and orange liqueur.

  4. Shake vigorously for fifteen seconds until the outside of the shaker feels very cold and frosty.
  5. Strain the cocktail into your prepared glasses over fresh ice and garnish with a strawberry half.

Notes

Strain the strawberry puree through a fine-mesh sieve before mixing if you prefer a completely seedless cocktail. Taste your berries first and adjust the agave nectar accordingly.
