Method
- Wash a large glass pitcher or gallon jar thoroughly with hot soapy water, rinsing completely.
- Pour the filtered water into the container and submerge the black tea bags.
- Place the sealed container outside in direct sunlight for three to four hours until the tea turns amber.
- Remove the pitcher from the sun and carefully pull out the tea bags without squeezing them.
- Stir in sweetener if using, then chill in the refrigerator and serve over ice with lemon and mint.

Always use a thoroughly sanitized glass container. Do not squeeze the tea bags when removing them to prevent a bitter flavor.
