Ingredients
  

  • 1 gallon filtered water Cold or room temperature
  • 8 black tea bags Standard size, tags removed if desired
  • 1 lemon Sliced into rounds for garnish
  • 1 bunch fresh mint For serving
  • ½ cup simple syrup or honey Optional, to taste

Equipment

  • 1 Large glass pitcher For brewing
  • 1 long spoon For stirring

Method
 

  1. Wash a large glass pitcher or gallon jar thoroughly with hot soapy water, rinsing completely.
  2. Pour the filtered water into the container and submerge the black tea bags.

  3. Place the sealed container outside in direct sunlight for three to four hours until the tea turns amber.

  4. Remove the pitcher from the sun and carefully pull out the tea bags without squeezing them.

  5. Stir in sweetener if using, then chill in the refrigerator and serve over ice with lemon and mint.

Notes
