Ingredients

Method
 

  1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees Fahrenheit and lightly grease a 9x9 inch baking dish.
  2. Combine the cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and almond extract in a large bowl, tossing until evenly coated.

  4. Whisk the oats, flour, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt together in a separate mixing bowl.
  5. Cut the cold butter into the dry mixture using a pastry blender until coarse, pea-sized crumbs form.

  6. Sprinkle the crumb topping evenly over the fruit layer in the baking dish.
  7. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the topping is golden brown and the fruit juices are bubbling vigorously around the edges.

Notes
