Ingredients
  

  • 1 pound ziti pasta Cooked al dente
  • 24 ounces marinara sauce High quality store-bought or homemade
  • 15 ounces whole milk ricotta cheese Drained if watery
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese Freshly grated
  • ½ cup parmesan cheese Grated
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper Freshly cracked

  • 1 Large pot For boiling pasta
  • 1 9x13 baking dish For assembling
  • 1 Mixing Bowl For ricotta blend
  • 1 Cheese grater For fresh cheese

Method
 

  1. Boil the ziti pasta in heavily salted water until very al dente.

  2. Combine the ricotta, half of the parmesan, and black pepper in a small bowl until smooth.

  3. Spread a thin layer of sauce in a baking dish, add half the pasta, and dollop the ricotta mixture evenly.

  4. Top with the remaining pasta, the rest of the sauce, and an even layer of mozzarella cheese.
  5. Bake uncovered at 375°F for 30 minutes until the cheese is bubbling and golden brown around the edges.

Notes
